No, our subscription model has been designed specifically to help small business offer great online products without any upfront costs. Our subscriptions are simply a monthly payment which provides access to our services.

Once your subscription starts then you will have access to all of the services in your package immediately, including the design and development of your website.

All of our subscriptions have no large upfront fees, meaning instead of paying in advance for the design & development of your website we simply spread the cost between your payments in year one. Colony is a partnership so as soon as we are able we reduce our monthly rates to recognise our members' loyalty & help give their business a boost.

That's it, no catch, just the same great services and support for less.

Initially our subscriptions have a 12 month commitment after which they transition to a rolling month-by-month product. Our core principle is great service so we believe we do not need to tie our clients into lengthy contracts.

We are confident you will love our service. However if you do want to leave after the initial 12 month period then we will transfer the site and domain to a place of your choosing.

Our ethos is to work in partnership with our clients so we do not offer website development for a one-off fee. However if you want us to create a website for you then you can start a subscription and cancel after 12 months if you would like.

Any website created could then be transfered to your own management.

Yes, all of our subscriptions include hosting as standard. Our websites are hosted with industry leading security & use our global Content Delivery Network to ensure super-fast delivery wherever it is accessed from.

No, we never use templates or websites builders such as Wordpress or Squarespace. To ensure maximum compatibility & longevity all of our website are built using a combination of pure HTML5, CSS & Javascript, which are the most widely adopted and supported resources online.

We develop the vast majority of our websites in-house, however, depending on your requirements we may also add additional code libraries or connect to trusted third party products to give you the solution you need.

The process for onboarding would depend on your individual requirements but we would generally look to migrate your site to our COLONY platform so we can offer you our full range of services.

As part of this process we can make changes to your existing site or work with you to design and build a beautiful new website depending on your preferences.

All of our subscription plans are personalised so the changes that are included will depend on your individual website and subscription package. As a general rule of thumb once your website is created then ongoing changes to the exisiting content are included & we will always agree with you in advance what is covered whilst designing and building your website.

We will often also provide you with a simple route for adding and amending text, images, products, blogs etc. You will have unlimited access to make these changes.

We are happy to help with any changes that are outside of your current subscription package. All our subscriptions have unlimited access help & support included so you can discuss your requirements with us in advance to understand the scale of the development and get a quote at no cost.

If you choose to proceed then we will either agree a change to your subscription package or provide a one-off cost for the work.
